Unbreakable

I search for that particular light
that breaks through between an arch and an opening of the sky.

Gold and grey shadows
against the darkness of the wrought iron
that folds like a wave
but is unbreakable,
like this memory.

A youth leaning against it
with no respect for the centuries.

But why should he,
living in the here and now,
making it a more unbreakable
memory of the present.
